Kevin W. Mannoia is Professor of Ministry and serves as
Chaplain at Azusa Pacific University. In that capacity he developed and
oversees the chaplaincy and spiritual care ministry of the faculty, staff, and
graduate students. Prior to developing this new role, he served as Dean of
Haggard School of Theology at APU, coming from his role as President of the
National Association of Evangelicals. From his experience as a pastor,
superintendent, bishop of the Free Methodist Church and President of the NAE,
Mannoia brings his understanding of the church at a congregational,
organizational, denominational, and national level to his ministry. As Founder
and Chair of the Wesleyan Holiness Consortium, he brings expression of his call
to leadership within the Church to the priority on transformation, unity, and
leadership.
While Mannoia’s career has taken him around the nation and
the world, he calls southern California home.
He and Kathleen, his wife, live near Los Angeles. They have three
children, Kristyn, Christopher and Corey.
Having grown up in Brazil and invested much of his ministry
overseas, Dr. Mannoia lives as a world Christian, however, he is still notably
active in his local community. While a
pastor in Dallas, Texas, he also served as a chaplain to the Dallas Police
Department, and hosted a weekly radio broadcast, “New Wineskins.” In California, he is active as a board member
for multiple organizations. His broad
experience and world involvement shape his commitment to leaders and future
influencers.
Dr. Mannoia has served in ministry leadership for over 30
years since receiving his B.A. from Roberts Wesleyan College, and his Masters
of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He began his pastoral work in Dallas, Texas
and continued his education, obtaining the Ph.D. from the University of North
Texas.
Kevin’s passion for expanding the Kingdom of God finds
particular manifestation in raising and shaping the next generation of leaders
on a global basis through higher education, which he sees as a vital part of
the Church. He has served as a faculty
member at Holy Light Theological Seminary in Kaohsiung, Taiwan; the Asian
Theological Association; and the Asian Graduate School of Theology in
Bangalore, India. In addition, he served
on the Board of Trustees for Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary
in Rochester, N.Y., and Seattle Pacific University.
Though clearly centered as an evangelical leader in North
America, Mannoia is actively involved in numerous efforts for unity in the
broader Church. He is known particularly for calling Christian leaders to a
transformational mission and integrative thinking in a new century. In addition to regular classroom teaching as
well as preaching, he serves as resource person and speaker to conferences,
churches, and retreats where the wholeness that comes through God’s full
salvation is the central theme of his ministry in building people.
His love for God finds manifestation in a passion for
preaching and teaching that is centered on Jesus Christ and the principles of
the Kingdom of God. Mannoia has
articulated his leadership insight and passion through writing. In addition to many articles, his books
include, Church Planting: The Next Generation; Century 21 Church Planting
Manual; The Integrity Factor: A Journey in Leadership Formation; Church 2k –
Leading Forward; 15 Characteristics of Effective Pastors; The Holiness
Manifesto; and Masterful Living.
