As l reflect upon our time together and the world that we are living in today, l remember how the Kingdom was delivered to King David. He was King not only because of his abilities and anointing but also because of the men that fought together with him. The Bible tells us that it was them who made, “David king overIsrael” (1 Chron. 12:38).
Although they understood protocol, “kept their rank” (1 Chron. 12:38) but their relationship with each other go beyond the formal and institutional. They had a shared life and influenced each other with loyalty, love, support and responsibility. (1 Chron. 12:38-13:2). These relationships resulted in a very strong “CORPORATE VISION” and “JOINT CONSULTATION AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL” (3:1-2). They were more than opinion givers – they confirmed God’s will and were responsible for all implementations. “If it seems good to you and if it is of the Lord…” vs 2.
I have no doubt the challenges that we are facing today and increasingly, in the days ahead, can only be overcome by men and women who have invested their time and efforts to develop and strengthen relationships. It is indeed hard work, but the Kingdom belongs to men and women who can say to each other, “We are your bones and your flesh…” (2 Sam. 5:1)
The Assemblies of God is a Cooperative Fellowship. So let us seek to cooperate and take this time to foster fellowship that will unite all of us into a powerful force for the extension of the Kingdom.
Let us unite and take the Kingdom for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
